JUVÉDERM® is injected under the skin to deliver nutrients and hydrate the skin for improved contour and to smooth moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds.
All of the JUVÉDERM® products are made up of hyaluronic acid (HA) gel, which a complex compound that is found naturally in the skin to help with hydration, fullness and elasticity. The natural compound in our body helps to deliver nutrients and allows the skin to retain moisture and remain supple. HA gel fillers have the advantage of being easily dissolved with hyaluronidase if the results aren’t just what you’d expected.
The actual procedure takes less than one hour. Plus, the injection includes a small quantity of Lidocaine (a local anesthetic), which is used to reduce discomfort.
As with all hyaluronic acid products*, the results are noticeable immediately. Even so, results improve over the first few weeks as any swelling resolves. THE JUVÉDERM COLLECTION® of injectable fillers has been proven to be long lasting. Ranging in duration from a year to two years with optimal treatment. Side effects are minor and may include temporary redness, tenderness, swelling, lumps, bruising, and firmness, which resolve in less than two weeks.
