Kybella

Kybella® is the first non-surgical injectable treatment used to improve the appearance and profile of moderate to severe fat below the chin, often referred to as a “double chin.” Kybella® is FDA-approved for use on the fat cells underneath the chin and it provides outstanding results in reducing the appearance of double chin and sharpening the jawline.

This is the first non-invasive treatment for double chin. Allergan Pharmaceuticals brought its years of aesthetic expertise with the release of Kybella® for safe, effective, predictable treatment for submental fullness (also known as, double chin). Previously, the only way to reduce or eliminate fat from under the chin was through liposuction or surgery. With Kybella®, there’s no need for anesthesia or long recovery times, as this procedure is completed in the office.

The appearance of a double chin affects many people – at any age; even those who exercise regularly and maintain a comfortable weight. Submental fullness is difficult to get rid of even with diet and exercise, because some attribute this facial feature to genetics. Since there are no exercises that target this area and previous treatments were only surgical, Kybella® is the newest office treatment to impact facial aesthetics.

We respect the individual differences of each person’s facial features and look for individualized solutions that include consideration of your lifestyle and goals. If you are interested in reducing the appearance of a double chin or sharpening your jawline without lengthy surgery, Kybella® may be a treatment for you. Clients are provided a full description of fees during a complimentary cosmetic consultation.

When injected into the fat beneath your chin, Kybella® destroys fat cells. The active ingredient in Kybella® is deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. The eliminated fat cells are then naturally absorbed and removed through your body’s natural metabolism.

For optimal results expect two or more treatments to achieve the desired outcome. A topical anesthetic cream may be applied to the treatment area prior to the Kybella® treatment. Each treatment takes less than one hour, and consists of a series of injections placed strategically in the area under the chin in order to target the localized fullness.

The most common side effects include swelling, bruising, pain, numbness, redness, and areas of hardness in the treatment area. These effects resolve naturally within a matter of days; they may be managed with over the counter medication and concealed with makeup.
